Public Works Supervisor
The City of Medford is recruiting for an individual to fill the position of full-time, exempt, Public Works Supervisor. Working under the direction of the City Administrator and City Council, this position will provide a high level of direct supervision of full and part time public works staff. The position requires the direction of responsive customer service and managing, participating and reviewing the activities and operations of the Public Works Department. The position requires communicating and coordinating with other City staff and outside agencies; and includes identifying, directing, planning, managing, and implementing the day to day and long-term maintenance and operation of streets, parks, trails, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and wastewater, water, and storm sewer infrastructure. The position performs administrative, technical, and professional work in managing municipal infrastructure. Salary is $41,600-$58,177, DOQ.
Must possess Minnesota issued Class D Water and Class D Wastewater licenses (Class C or higher licenses preferred), a valid Minnesota driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class B driver’s license with air brake endorsement within six months. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a CPO license.
Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some evening, weekend and emergency response required.

Full Time Public Works Worker
The City of Medford is accepting applications for a Full Time Public Works Worker. Duties include operating heavy and light equipment, operating tools, assisting in completing reports, maintaining public streets, alleys, sidewalks, gutters, parks, storm and sanitary sewers, water systems, lighting, and city equipment. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have a valid Minnesota class D driver’s license; a Minnesota class B driver’s license with air brake endorsement is required within six months of employment. Candidates must be able to work overtime, respond to emergency call outs, be on call as assigned, have four years of experience in maintenance, construction, or a related field, and must live within a 30 minute response time. Preferred qualifications include a Minnesota class B driver’s license with air brake endorsement, water operator and wastewater operator licenses, certified pool operator license, experience maintaining storm sewers, operating snow removal equipment, and maintaining and operating heavy and light equipment. Lifeguards and Assistant Pool Manager
The City of Medford is now taking applications for an Assistant Pool Manager, and part-time Lifeguards and certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI’s) for the 2018 summer pool season. Lifeguard applicants must be 15 years old or older and possess a current lifeguard training certificate, by the beginning of the pool season, which includes First Aid and CPR certification.
